We have finally been granted planning permission to set up a workshop at Station Approach. Hurrah!
The team of volunteers have already started work clearing the site; this will be followed by containers and a workshop from early August. To find our site follow the path round the back past City Plumbing. We’ll be putting direction signs up as soon as possible.
We’ve a lot to do and want to move quickly, so if you’re keen on helping with the build out of the space, please get in touch as we’ve a BIG list of jobs to be getting on with, from levelling and putting down paving slabs for the containers, to constructing the workshop base and putting up the building itself.
Once fully operational we’ll be offering bike servicing, a shared workshop where you can use our tools and share skills, refurbished bike sales, volunteering opportunities and much more including group rides and ebikes for hire.
The new workshop is also great news for local charity Frome’s Missing Links as all profits from Frome Community Bike Project will go to them to support their work linking up traffic free routes in and around Frome. Find out more about their work here: www.fromesmissinglinks.org.uk
