Happy New Year! Our Crowdfunder in September seems like a distant memory, but rest assured we have been busy behind the scenes making FCBP a reality.
After a long wait for our planning application to be validated it is now live on the Mendip Planning Portal and we should know the outcome by 28th February. The application is open for comments till Tuesday 24th January. There is no guarantee that we will get permission, and all comments in favour really help to show that the project is supported by the local community, so please head over to the planning portal here and let Mendip know about your support!
As soon as we have the go ahead from planning we’ll be ordering the containers, workshop and tools we need to get started. A team of volunteers are eager to help with setting up on site, if you would like to get involved with setting up the space please email us at [email protected]
Funding update
In the meantime we have applied to two different pots of funding to deliver bike maintenance courses and cycle confidence classes around Frome. We should know the outcome of these applications by the end of January so if successful, we will be popping up all over Frome offering remote cycling support. Watch this space!
