The start of September marks the beginning of the Frome Community Bike Project’s Crowdfunding campaign and we need your help! Donate to the project here, and choose a reward, and don’t forget to tell everyone you can!
Why are we crowdfunding?
We’ve a great location for the project at Station Approach, but we need funds to purchase equipment and get the project off the ground. The way we’re crowdfunding means that if we don’t hit our target then you’ll get your money back too. But no reward, sorry!
We’re also fortunate that Sport England have agreed to donate £9,000 towards our target if we raise over £7,500 but that still means we’ve got a lot to raise.
We will recycle donated bicycles, teach bike maintenance skills and cycle confidence classes, have a shared workshop and volunteering opportunities. People can come and use the workshop and tools to work on their own bikes, share skills or pay one of our mechanics to do the work for you, there is an option for everyone!
The project is a non-profit organisation set up by a team of volunteers for the benefit of the community. All profits from the project will support Frome’s Missing Links, the local charity linking up traffic-free walking and cycling routes in and around Frome.
